My name is Agastya Shankhla, and I am the author of the novel The Blue Mountain.

My journey into the world of literature is somewhat unconventional. Unlike many authors who grow up as avid readers, I hadn't read a single book before completing my own. For me, the process wasn’t about following a template or being influenced by the giants of the past; it was a decade-long labor of "writing and re-writing" until the story felt right.

I believe there is a unique strength in being "uninspired" by others. It means having fewer boundaries and the freedom to explore uncharted territory. Nature is my real inspiration. To me, art is the sky, and the artist is a free bird. There are no rules in this space—if there were, we would call it science.

Originally from Village Khairmpur, Hisar, Haryana, my path has taken me through diverse environments, from earning my B.Com at FGM Government College to studying Hotel Management at Amity University of Singapore. These experiences have all contributed to the perspective I bring to my work.

Born on August 7th, I spent ten years pouring my vision into The Blue Mountain, proving that art doesn’t require a roadmap—only the courage to keep creating.
